Overview

As a senior executive overseeing multiple global P&Ls, I experienced firsthand the chaos of fragmented financial data. Time tracking was inconsistent—U.S. teams used SAP, while global teams logged hours in SharePoint. Finance reports arrived late and wrong. Project codes varied by region. This was a systemic flaw across the holding company’s operating model. There was no centralized platform to understand where money was going, how resources were allocated, or how performance aligned with forecasts. The lack of standardization and integration across systems created operational blind spots and financial risk.

Opportunity

This inefficiency wasn’t just a personal pain point - it was systemic across Interpublic Group. Financial, operational, and staffing data lived in silos across 97 global companies, over 5,000 clients, and more than 100,000 active projects. I saw a critical opportunity to solve for this by building a centralized P&L platform that would unify financial, staffing, and operational data across systems and geographies - providing clarity, accountability, accuracy, and insight across the entire enterprise, at every level of the organization.

Solution

I led the development of a comprehensive, integrated P&L Management Platform that supported:

  • Real-time visibility into revenue, expenses, and headcount.

  • Real-time drill-downs by market, company, team, client, and project.

  • Revenue, cost, and time tracking aligned across staffing, tools, operations, and development.

  • Integration with SAP, SharePoint, Asana, Salesforce, Acxiom, Microsoft BI, Google BI, and Tableau.

  • Forecasting and pipeline health across business units.

  • Tracking of estimated vs. actuals, including time spent and hard and soft costs.

  • Standardization of project and time codes globally, reconciling U.S. (SAP) and international (SharePoint) reporting.

  • Eliminate reliance on disconnected Excel workflows.


    I launched the platform in tandem with an overhaul of global time codes and project codes, ensuring accurate and consistent data at every level.

My Role

I initiated the platform based on operational pain points I directly experienced. I defined the vision, led cross-functional development, and oversaw global rollout and adoption across Finance, HR, Executive Leadership, and Operations teams. I ensured long-term scalability through recurring feedback loops and clearly communication and driving strategic roadmaps and tactical roadmaps.
